The biggest ever exhibition of the famous Greek artist Takis(Panayiotis Vassilakis, born 1925) is held this summer by Tate Modern in collaboration with Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona and the Museum of Cycladic Art, Athens.
Takis is one of the most influencing avant-garde personas of art of the 20th century. His work combines three elements: magnetism, sound and light. As Tate successfully describes, he is the artist who harnesses magnetic energy to create sculptures!
The exhibition will include the rare installation Magnetic Fields, which will be exhibited for the first time since the 1970s!
As the Guardian wrote, 'Takis wants to show us the true beauty of the universe'
